God is so good to protect  this book and help it survive the Typhoon in the Philippines since many of the files were in that country. Please continue to pray for the victims of that terrible disaster.  I am thankful that a promise I made my mother came true on Tuesday, November 12, 2013  Thank all of you for your support,  not only for the book but for also helping the Typhoon victims since they benefit from book sales.

Life Lessons from the Rat at Disney World

It was truly a magical moment. With days of happy faces, Mickey Mouse treats, and children topped with hats resembling Disney characters, we saw a rat. We were standing in the middle of Epcot's Italy when all of a sudden a rat made a surprise appearance. I was reminded of some timeless life lessons from the rat at Disney World.

We had just left Alice in Wonderland and were approaching Mary Poppins. We were all captivated with memories of our childhood icons.  Thomas must have starred at Mary Poppins for five minutes.  I told him he looked like a stalker.  He said, “I was trying to figure out why she doesn’t sweat.” Even with his left brain thinking, Thomas, like the rest of us, was in a magical mode.

A Lesson from Aunt Naomi’s Pig; Never Give Up

Years ago, we had a pig in the community of Harmony that became a pest. Ironically, this pig was making our community everything but harmonious. The pig came out of nowhere and had been living in our yards for a month or so. It rotated from home to home; I guess you could say it is a homeless pig. One day my mother-in-law, who is basically a kind and gentle person, threw a rock at it. Twice it was hit by a car and reported dead, but the pig was still alive. I learned a valuable lesson from Aunt Naomi's Pig: Never Give up.Years ago, we had a pig in the community of Harmony that became a pest. Ironically, this pig was making our community everything but harmonious.  The pig came out of nowhere and had been living in our yards for a month or so.  It rotated from home to home; I guess you could say it was a homeless pig.  One day my mother-in-law, who is basically a kind and gentle person, threw a rock at it. We discovered  the pig belongs to one of the farm workers named Hamp. Unfortunately he was unable to catch it due to a strange accident.  It seems he was intoxicated and sat on the lighted kerosene heater thinking it was the toilet.  That just hurts even to think about.
